Announced in 1992 at Geneva Show as 1993 model car to have the name Continental R was an exclusive model of Bentley after a long time since S3 Continental. As the name suggests, they tried to revive the spirit of their post-war masterpiece, R-Type Continental with the 1990’s technology to be the high-end personal car. Developed under the code name “Nepal”, This car was planned o be the 1990’s best sports coupe of Bentley marque. Based on Turbo R platform, the body design was a cooperative work of John Heffernan who became known for Aston Martin Village design, and a young British designer Ken Greenlay. The concept car of this model was exhibited at 1985 Geneva Show titled as "Project 90". Graham Hull of Rolls-Royce was said to have helped to finish the design.

The power unit V8 OHV 6,747cc was fitted with TO4B Turbo charger of Garret Air Research. The transmission is the first to use in this model, GM700 four-speed automatic. Its selector was set on the floor for the first time ever as Bentley motor car to be genuinely sporty.

Continental R was priced far higher than Turbo R saloon, (39,500,000 Yen in Japan) but became a successful model exceeding the R-R leaders’ expectation. The total of 1533 cars were produced until around 2002 being the best contributor for the Bentley marquee to revive and establish its character all over the world after the separation from Rolls-Royce marquee in the 21st century.

This particular car was imported privately in 1995. LHD, Elegant color scheme, relatively low mileage (14,000 Km), fresh pristine-looking and a ride for a 25-year-old car. The steady value as a neo-classic is waiting for you.
