Cornice debuted in 1967 named as “Silver Shadow Mulliner ParkWad Drophead Coupe/Sports Saloon” In 1971 the model was named Cornice when the Silver Shadow/T received changes including the engine upgrade from 6,230cc to 6,750 cc. The name Bentley Corniche was originated in the 1939 Bentley Mk V built specially by Van Valen. Then adopted on both marquees. When the series 1 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow/Bentley T had progressed to series 2 receiving changes including on the steering system, bumper shapes and air conditioning system, Corniche also followed the changes not at once but in a stepwise fashion. 2 ?door saloon or so-called fixed head coupe production ceased in 1981. Convertibles production model remained, and only Bentley version renamed “Continental” in 1984 as taking over the historical name for Bentley, originated in R-Type Continental. This name change is thought to be reflecting the Rolls-Royce Motors plan to revive the Bentley marquee in the 1980’s. 63 Bentley 2- Door Saloons (fixed head coupe) were produced from 1971 to 1981, 77 convertibles from 1971 to 84. Bentley cars were rare at that time and so on the market today naturally.

This particular car has been seen on motor magazines as it was owned and loved by Mr. A. Tokudaiji, a well-known motor critic in Japan. Comes with the original manual, which is luckiness to a new owner. Feel the 1980’s. One of rare Bentley Corniche examples is here for you to drive.
