Silver Shadow is revaluated worldwide in these few years. The series 2 car is formally called Silver Shadow II.
Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was announced in 1965 September, which is known to have had the most drastic change in the Rolls-Royce Motors history. The car had many "firsts" in the Rolls-Royce history, such as monocoque construction, Citroen patented hydropneumatic hight control independent suspension, hydropneumatic four wheel disk brake. Perhaps because of the many drastic changes, the car had received continuous improvements right after its debut.
The most significant change came in 1975 to be called Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II. The power unit, V8 OHV 6,747cc engine was carried on but the steering was rack & pinion instead of the ball recirculation on the series 1 car. With the standardized radial tire, It was said the handling and straight-running stability was much improved. Silver Shadow II can cope with modern traffic condition flawlessly with the smooth ride and the brake, which overturns your preconceived idea of 1970’s classic cars.
This two-tonee color scheme Silver Shadow is left-hand drive 1978 car. The mildly used condition gives a good patina in and out. Mechanically smooth. Air conditioner works very well for a 1970’s car ? a very charming daily driver.
