1969 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I Four Door Saloon

Year: 1969
Model: Silver Shadow I
Body Type: Four-door Saloon, RHD
Body Color: Metallic Red
Upholstery: Ivory leather

Silver Shadow, retrospectively called Silver Shadow I, was announced in 1965 September, taking a big leap from the classical Silver Cloud style to a modern and clean three-box sedan with monocoque chassis construction. Drastically changed mechanically as well to have the avant-garde technologies of the time. Only the engine, V8 OHV 6230cc was carried from Silver Cloud II and III. Citroen patented hydropneumatic hight control independent suspension was adopted instead of the rigid leaf suspension, and the hydropneumatic four wheel disk brake instead of conventional Hispano Suiza style mechanical servo drum brake. The smooth ride of Silver Shadow can cope with today’s traffic condition flawlessly. The traditional Rolls-Royce exquisite finish on the paint and upholstery is intact. The burr walnut wood trim, Connolly Hyde seat, Wilton carpet on this particular car are the unchanged charm of this marquee.

This particular car is an early Shadow I, 1969, 6,230cc model. Burgundy body and beige leather is a classy 1960’s example, rather rare RHD and well-preserved details in and out. Almost entirely original in good condition. You can’t easily find such Silver Shadow I in the market today.
Silver shadow I was produced to 1975 having the chromed iron bumper is now again getting popular in Europe and the USA as well. However, many of those cars put up for sale are far from the roadworthy condition. We recommend this Silver Shadow as a quality example that Rolls-Royce would have offered. Ready for you to test-drive.
