1966 Bentley T1 Saloon
Year: 1966
Bentley T1 and the twin sister Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow were announced in 1965 September, which is known to have had the most drastic change in the Rolls-Royce Motors history. The car had many “firsts” in the Rolls-Royce history, such as monocoque construction, Citroen patented hydropneumatic hight control independent suspension, hydropneumatic four wheel disk brake instead of conventional Hispano Suiza style mechanical servo drum brake. Perhaps because of the many drastic changes, the car had received continuous improvements right after its debut. In the 1960’s and 70’s, Bentley marquee was overshadowed by Rolls-Royce. Bentley sales against Rolls-Royce was fallen down to 1:9. The total production of Bentley T saloon was only 1,703 + 9 of Extended wheelbase version, which resulting now to be a sort after car among Bentley collectors. |
