Silver Dawn looks all the same as Bentley Mk VI but the grill and the badge. The first in-house complete production car from Rolls-Royce Motors is Silver Dawn. Standard body style as Bentley Mk VI was the very first, breakthrough production. After this standard body Silver Dawn, Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, Silver Shadow and Silver Spirit would follow along with the twin sister Bentley cars on the common chassis and body shape.
Bentley Mark VI was the biggest hit ever, and Rolls-Royce had a made-to-order model then, Silver Wraith.
With the growing reputation, sales record and production efficiency of Mk VI, Silver Dawn was introduced to develop the overseas markets, mainly the U.S.A. Thus most of Silver Dawn cars were exported having LHD specification, and RHD model was scarce. Recently getting attention again for its size, classy style and rarity of the total production of 800, the price of this car is rising, especially in overseas. This is the most compact Rolls-Royce car and fits on the Japanese roads and traffic for its mobility as well.
