In 1929, W.O.Bntley’s masterpiece 4 1/2 added Villier's supercharger on its nose. Since then “Blower Bentley” has been the legendary best of British Vintage cars among enthusiasts.
The idea of adding a supercharger on the 4 1/2 litre, 4 cylinder 4398cc SOHC 16 valve unit was conceived by the driver Tim Birkin and his team fellows, the Bentley boys. To run the Le Mans race fulfilling the condition of the Le Mans rule, Bentley Motors produced just limited 50 cars. (+ 5 race cars called Birkin Cars.) Birkin lost the winning cup to the fellow Bentley boy, Woolf Barnato’s Speed Six. Yet the Blower Bentley made successful records on Brooklands speed trial and other races in Britain.
This car, chassis number #AB3366 was originally 1928 4 1/2 litre Vanden Plas 2 seater. With the original specification blower and the Vanden Plas Le Mans style body on, Blower Bentley was correctly reproduced with the right procedure under the supervision of a prime British Bentley specialist.
The current engine has been overhauled to be in the top condition. The original engine #AB3366 is retained. Naturally, the body and the upholstery is top notch. One of the finest W.O. Bentley cars in the world.
