Grand Opening of WAKUI MUSEUM
on Sunday, 10th August, 2008

Hall of Fame for Classic Roll-Royce & Bentley
An array of the prestigious  " world's one and only "  cars
including Shigeru Yoshida and Jiro Shirasu’s beloved cars

Wakui Shokai Co., Ltd. (President: Kiyoharu Wakui, Head Office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo), the company that imports and sells the classic cars of Rolls-Royce, Bentley, etc. is pleased to announce they will open the WAKUI MUSEUM, a Hall of Fame for prestigious classic cars featuring Rolls-Royce and Bentley manufactured during 1910 – 1960, in Kazo City in Saitama on Sunday, 10th August.

Kiyoharu Wakui, the museum owner, has collected more than 300 classic cars from home and abroad during the past 20 years. This time he decided to exhibit the gems of his collection in WAKUI MUSEUM and chose 14 of the most valuable cars.  " Every car must still be able to run as long as it is an automobile, so I would like to have visitors actually hear the sound of the engine and see the car move.  "  With this concept from the owner Wakui in mind, all cars in the museum are perfectly maintained to show off their heroic run from the olden days to all visitors.

The fourteen classic cars exhibited in the museum include: a 1921 Bentley 3Litre D.H.C. by Gairn, the world's oldest original Bentley; a 1937 Rolls-Royce 25/30HP Sports Saloon by Hooper, the beloved car of the former Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida; a 1924 Bentley 3Litre which had been owned by Jiro Shirasu while he was studying at Cambridge University in the U.K.; and a 1927 Bentley 3Litre, probably the world's most famous Bentley with the nickname  " Old Mother Gun  " , all of which form a truly important collection when discussing the motorization of the world.

The museum built on the site of 330 Tsubo (1 Tsubo is equivalent to 3.3m2) in Kazo, Saitama is 90 Tsubo wide, offering a garden (approx. 100 Tsubo) with a bamboo grove and a stream, which can be used for a gathering of car enthusiasts.
